caderas is making it bigggggg :P

Sooo proud of caderas! *beams*
from an article on salsasingapore.sg about the best events worth remembering in 2007:

Caderas Latinas
He/she is: The salsa performance team of Singapore Management University.
Our pick because: We remember the team standing out among their peers at Union Square’s first Tertiary Night last year with their Afrocuban-flavoured routine. The group is also championing Bailamos en la Calle an event coming up in February involving other tertiary institutions to promote salsa and Latin dance. Thumbs-up for the effort and hot babes that had the guys drooling.

Bailamos is in 3 days. it's excitinng yet scary thinking about it.. especially since i'm like so unprepared and still can't do a lot of the moves. very STRESS. sigh. hope i can overcome it during training tmr *prays*

my mother has reiterated many times that i'm to quit dance after this event and prioritize. so i guess it's my last performance ever... really hope it turns out well.

feeling a little jaded. maybe not jaded ..but more like nothin.
i'm back to the point of time where i'm tired of certain stuff again.. like my tolerance for it has gone to an all-time low. how long should my life be ruled?

yet at the same time.. i know there is sense in all these concern and comments. some are valid.. some are just ridiculous. I'm gonna be 23 this year. when does it stop? Does it matter whether i choose to sleep early or not? Why can't I be passionate about something else? Why is dancing wrong?

maybe it's cuz i'm messing up my studies again. i know i am. the mid terms in a couple of days.. yet it's still a mess to me. i honestly dunno what i'm reading.. and to put it in my head in the next couple of days is just impossible. screw grades. it's not that great to begin with anyway.

I just don't seem to be doing anything right again.

Undergrad Boys

the request:
I heard that you guys have meet up for rehearsal last week. I am excited to see the choreo!! There are a few things i will need from your team.

1) The performance music.
2) The name of the performance
3) A short write-up (1-2 paragraph) on the item, coz the emcee need to know something about the item in order to introduce you guys. It can be about the dancers; the meaning behind the dance; the theme of the dance, anything related to the dance or you guys.

the initial response:
the name of the performance.. performance number 2359. (Just because it's an all guy item)
The dancers consist of the papa elephant, mama elephant, sister elephant and brother elephant. (something to do with the song having elephant sounds - i now worry about the choreo) Joining trunks together for the first time, these young thick skinned animals will showcase their extreme creativity by dancing to the lively tunes of untitled_mix1.mp3. This dance seeks to share the spirit of the 'four trunks unity' and spread the need to go green and save the our world from global warming. Based on a true story of cinderella and goldilocks, these 4 long trunks will entertain you and titilate you. Feel free to shout out the names of the trunks when you feel like letting it out. I now present to you, the SOFA KINGS!

Sigh. Lame boyos.
This what happens when you put a group of guys together to dance salsa.
tsk tsk

Photog Workshop + First trip to Chinatown during a CNY period

Being an idle year 4-er, i decided to go for this PhotogWorkshop organised by SMUSAIC last friday and dragged bf along. :) The workshop was about the basics of taking shots of people and it was fun.. thanks to the great company! As you can tell from the below pic, we pretty much spent quite a bit of time fooling around. heh.

Clockwise from top: as Roshni quotes: "DK learns Photography!"; Aaron trying to look big and macho; zm and Aaron er.. being themselves?; Roshni's "I want a DLSR" grin"

After the workshop, Zhimin and I decided to head down to Chinatown to practise what we have learnt! heh. Well.. kind of. We just thought that since it was the CNY period, it was a good opportunity to go down and take a few shots. Zhimin took most of the shots as I was busy getting excited by all the CNY stuff *grins*. Can't blame me lah.. it's a first time experience for me!
As a whole, I think bf took really nice pics that day! So enjoy!
