Commencement

A day that is special for family. for us students... it's a day of wearing a gown and taking peektures. haha. I barely took any shots on the actualy day.. was too tired from the previous night plus mummy wasn't feeling well so i disappeared right after. sad. didn't manage to take shots with many of my friends.
i think i look weird in the gown. so don't look like a graduate at all. :S

argh! getting complains from peeps at my horrendously boring blog that hasn't had a new entry in the last erm 2 weeks? in fact, someone decide to point out my obviously outdated "want" list and hence i've updated it. bleah.

to my dearest sis, if you ever happen to have the time to glance at my blog from HK.. i'm so sorry i haven't post up my commencement peeektures as promised!!! will do so erm... soon. *i hope*. Hope you're enjoying yourself :)

on a side note, i had a happening weekend. went to st james for the first time on friday night with the office peeps. ended up at dragonfly which pretty much = weird chinese music band, nice mambo-ish music when band not playing and a lot of old males who have conveniently forgotten their age when they stare at girls that are half their age. oh! and plus a guy that has the worst pick up lines EVER. other than that, i did enjoy myself as i saw a different side of the peeps in office. didn't really get closer to them though. on the other hand, i spent my whole evening talking to this lady who used to work at crystaltime as the brand manager. it was fantastic talking to her and glad i got to know her.. . how i wish she was still in this company. would probably feel more motivated about my job.

yesh. making friends in this company is super difficult. it feels like war out there, where one side is just telling me bad stuff about the other stuff. honestly speaking.. before i even start getting much work done, the mood/office culture there just kills any optimism i have. it's draining hearing about complains, silent wars, getting shouted at for no reason. sigh. just hope things will get better.

Saturday night, i hung out with my two cousins at pump room. awesome band. awesome clubbing music. it's a wonderful mix altogether. people there don't try to pick you up and are there to just enjoy the music. my cousins are crazy. and i think they are one of the best male clubbers there are out there. they actually dance according to the music! the three of us (who were also prob the 3 youngest in the room) were on the podium for like a couple of hours and having a awesome time. i also see the traits of my loud and boisterous uncles in them, especially when they start singing at the top of their voices together with the band. i had a great laugh. really look forward to hanging out with them again.

Aside from my two happening nights, I spent the rest of my days over the weekend trying really hard to feel energetic despite 2 late nights. I managed to drop by the gym for a pathetic run (forced by mummy), pack up my room and watch ballet under the stars with bf.

a great weekend i must say. considering how boring my life usually is. am dreading tmr quite badly. though.

I finally managed to get a job. at long last. and before commencement. *phew*
haha.
i have to admit it ain't exactly my dream job (below than ave pay, traditional chinese company culture, no friends as of yet, no where near my friends or sis's workplace), but it's the jobscope and the learning experience that i'm attracted to. It is really a marketing job, focusing on branding and promotional activities for a couple of fashion watch brands. so yups!
just hope things will get better and of course, hope i can do it. haha.

the sea was gorgeous that day. it actually looked more blue than green for once!

it was fun watching the planes approach head on (somewhat) towards us from far and pass right above us. unfortunately, taking airplanes at close distances require skill that both zm and i kinda lacked. still i think he did a better job than me for this one (see below).

had an enjoyable evening today cycling and snapping photos. it was amazing actually.. ample opportunity to take good shots. and it was so empty.. we were pretty much almost the only cyclists around. with the sea on the left side, the airplanes landing and flying off, the huge coniferous trees around... it was awesome. felt so free. can't wait to the post the photos online :)

I got a new diary. expensive but perrrrfect. even though i went shopping with the intention of finding a simple, blackish one.. i ended up with a colourful one with lots of stripes. yummy. i simply adore the binding and the size.

on the other hand.. new diary probably means even less blogging! haha. maybe i should change it to more of a photoblog or something. dunno.. will think about that later.

speaking of photos.. i FINALLY sent some of my exchange pics for developing. looking forward to it. i also changed my blog pic.. nice right? took it when i was in switzerland.. (yesh! it's not an internet pic for once! haha). it's when i see photos like this.. i just feel inspired to go take more pictures or spend more time learning how to take better pictures. but whenever i think of singapore.. i just dunno what to take and my inspired moment just dies away. i love photography not because of photography itself, but because of the ability to capture moments that i want to keep in my mind always. the new experiences.. the excitement when i see something new. So i guess for now... i just have to keep in mind the possibility of taking awesome shots (like my header pic) in my future travels and improve my skills now :)

I applied for a handful of jobs as usual.. didn't get any of them again

I attended a jc gathering organised by thamster - nice to see them again even though we've drifted in general. great fun. i learnt that orange juice makes a damn awesome mixer and chivas rawks

I worked for 4 days selling acer lappies at the pc show. tiring but good $$. i learnt how to sell computers in mandarin.

I made a lot of new friends from rather diverse backgrounds.. most of them are younger than me

Since i felt richer after pc show, I decided to invest an additional $188 on my hair by chopping my curls off

I went to union only once

I suddenly have an urge to buy a macbook
maybe because I found out that facebook loads much faster on an iphone than my stoopid laptop

missed calls

I received 2 missed calls last friday as well as 1 call today from numbers starting with 6222-... and nobody ever picks up when i call back. this obviously bothers me since i'm expecting calls for interviews right? and it bothered me especially when i missed it today! so bf suggested that i google the number and see whether it reveals what company is trying to contact me. this is what i found:

haha. that kinda concluded that the call wasn't important.

prudential is really on a recruitment high. i think this is like the 5th time they are trying to approach me. geez.

building my lego house :)

What i did on my 23rd birthday... was to build my dream house. well kindof. haha. yes.. i did a childish thing ..play with Lego! I've kinda been eyeing this particular set since my lego days.. and since my bday plans were pretty spoilt due to bad weather, bf and i decided to spend the day building this.

heh. snacks while building. i still ended up with gastric though. dots.

it's really fun to see how the house is put together...
